Author: Laura Gonzalez

Laura Gonzalez was born and raised in Hudson County, NJ,in a vibrant Latinx community. She lived in Philadelphia where she received her BA in Psychology and ended up pursuing adventure all the way out to Berkeley, CA. She studied to become a teacher and received her MA at UC Berkeley. She spent her first two years teaching in East Harlem, NY and then moved back to the Bay where she taught K, 1st, and 2nd grade at Bridges Academy at Melrose in East Oakland for 13 years as a classroom teacher. She has been working as a library prep teacher for the past five years at Melrose Leadership Academy, a TK-8 dual immersion public school in Oakland. Laura loves books for all ages, kids of all ages, food and people of all flavors and is the mother of two beautiful boys.
